Jones Boys - Whole Town's Talking About the Jones Boys

Jones Boys - Whole Town's Talking About the Jones Boys

It was a special treat for music fans everywhere, when in the late 1950's, some of the greatest names in jazz united together to form a jazz fraternity of sorts; where all members are named "Jones," though none of them are related. And so a core group composed of trumpeter Thad Jones, pianist Jimmy Jones, bassist Eddie Jones and drummer Papa Jo Jones were aided by Reunald Jones on trumpet and Quincy Jones who played flugelhorn and supplied two of the tunes, to produce some remarkable sessions. A resulting album, "The Whole Town's Talking About The Jones Boys," originally released in 1957, contains such great titles as "Jones Beach," "The Jones Bash," "Blues for the Joneses" and the Rodgers & Hart's classic, "Have You Met Miss Jones?." All selections newly remastered.
